Terms of Service

1. Who we are and acceptance of terms

Aelaro is a trading name of Saxon Growth Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales. By creating an account, registering your interest, or using any part of the Aelaro service (“Service”), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service (“Terms”). If you do not agree, do not use the Service. These Terms constitute a binding legal agreement between you and Saxon Growth Ltd.

3. Assumption of risk and personal responsibility

By using the Service, you expressly acknowledge and agree to all of the following:

• You are solely and entirely responsible for your own actions, decisions, wellbeing, and safety, and for the actions and safety of any third party you discuss with or act on behalf of in connection with the Service.
• AI-generated responses may be inaccurate, incomplete, theologically imprecise, contextually inappropriate, or otherwise unsuitable for your specific circumstances. No response should be treated as authoritative, definitive, or a substitute for qualified human judgement.
• You agree not to make any significant life decision — including but not limited to decisions relating to medical treatment, mental health, relationships, finances, safety, or legal matters — based solely or primarily on content generated by Aelaro without first seeking qualified human advice.
• You assume full and knowing risk of any harm, loss, injury, or negative consequence — whether to yourself or others — arising from your use of or reliance on the Service, including any action or inaction you take following a conversation with Aelaro.
• Aelaro cannot verify the accuracy or appropriateness of information you share with it, and is not responsible for any outcome arising from that information.
• The Service does not maintain continuous monitoring of conversations and cannot intervene in real-world situations. No expectation of such monitoring or intervention is created by using the Service.

4. AI limitations

Aelaro uses large language models to generate responses. While it draws on real scripture (Berean Standard Bible), its responses are generated by a statistical model — not revealed, inspired, or verified by human clergy or scholars. Responses may reflect the biases, gaps, or errors inherent in AI systems and may not reflect your theological tradition, denomination's teaching, or the nuances of your personal situation.

Always exercise your own judgement. Seek trusted human guidance — a pastor, counsellor, doctor, or close community — on any matter of significant personal importance. Do not treat Aelaro as a replacement for those relationships.

5. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old to use Aelaro. By creating an account you represent that you are 18 or older and that all information you provide is accurate. We do not knowingly provide the Service to anyone under 18.

6. Your account

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. Notify us immediately at support@aelaro.app if you suspect unauthorised access. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.

7. Acceptable use

You agree not to use Aelaro to:

• Harass, threaten, incite violence against, or harm any person.
• Generate content that is hateful, discriminatory, obscene, or illegal.
• Attempt to circumvent safety systems, filters, or message limits.
• Impersonate any person or organisation.
• Access the Service through automated scripts, bots, or non-human means.
• Create multiple accounts to obtain additional free access.
• Share account credentials with others.
• Use the Service for any commercial purpose without our written consent.

Fair use: Message allowances are intended for genuine personal faith conversations. We reserve the right to throttle, suspend, or terminate access without refund where usage significantly exceeds normal patterns, regardless of plan tier.

8. Subscriptions and billing

Aelaro offers a free trial of 10 messages. Continued access requires a paid subscription billed in advance on a monthly or annual basis, renewing automatically unless cancelled.

Founding member pricing is locked for the life of your account provided your subscription remains continuously active. Cancellation forfeits the founding rate permanently.

If you are a consumer based in the UK or EEA, you have a statutory right to cancel a subscription within 14 days of purchase without giving any reason (the “cooling-off period”). After 14 days, refunds are considered on a case-by-case basis. Contact support@aelaro.app within 14 days of a charge if you believe a refund is warranted.

9. Referral programme

When someone you refer subscribes to a paid plan, you receive a credit applied to future invoices. Credits have no cash value, are non-transferable, and expire if your account is closed. We reserve the right to modify or discontinue the referral programme at any time without notice.

10. Disclaimer of warranties

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, the Service is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, reliability, or uninterrupted availability. We do not warrant that the Service will be error-free or that defects will be corrected.

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits any warranty or right that cannot be excluded or limited under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 or other applicable UK consumer protection legislation.

11. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Saxon Growth Ltd, its officers, employees, contractors, and agents shall not be liable for:

• Any harm, injury, death, or loss — whether to yourself or any third party — arising from any action you take or fail to take in connection with your use of the Service or any content generated by it.
• Any decision you make, or choose not to make, based on information or responses generated by the Service.
• Any failure or limitation of the automated safety detection feature to identify or respond appropriately to any message, regardless of its content.
• Any indirect, incidental, special, punitive, or consequential loss or damage of any nature, including loss of profits, loss of data, emotional distress, or reputational harm.
• Any damage arising from your inability to access or use the Service.

Where liability cannot be fully excluded by law, our total aggregate liability for all claims in any 12-month period shall not exceed the total fees paid by you to Aelaro in that period. Where no fees were paid, our liability shall not exceed £10.

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or any other liability that cannot be excluded or limited under English law.

12. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Saxon Growth Ltd and its officers, employees, and agents from and against any claims, damages, losses, costs, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from: (a) your use of the Service; (b) your violation of these Terms; (c) any action or inaction you take in connection with the Service; or (d) your violation of any third party's rights.

13. Intellectual property

All content, branding, and software comprising Aelaro is owned by or licensed to Saxon Growth Ltd. You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works without written permission. Scripture quotations from the Berean Standard Bible (BSB) © 2016–2020 Bible Hub, used under CC BY 4.0.

14. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any dispute arising under or in connection with these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales, except that either party may seek urgent injunctive relief in any competent court.

If you are a consumer resident in Scotland or Northern Ireland, you may also bring proceedings in the courts of your home country. If you are a consumer in the EU, you may also have access to the EU Online Dispute Resolution platform.

15. Changes to these terms

We may update these Terms at any time. We will give you at least 14 days' notice of material changes by email. Continued use of Aelaro after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms. If you do not agree, you must cancel your subscription and stop using the Service before the effective date.

16. Miscellaneous

If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue in full force. Our failure to enforce any provision does not constitute a waiver. These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and Saxon Growth Ltd regarding the Service.

Aelaro is a trading name of Saxon Growth Ltd, registered in England and Wales. These Terms are governed by English law. They do not affect any statutory rights you have as a consumer that cannot be excluded or limited under applicable law. Aelaro genuinely cares about your wellbeing — these protections exist because AI companions, however thoughtfully designed, cannot replace the qualified human support that some situations require.
